At the start of December we went to stay for a weekend at Castle of Park. The Landmark Trust describes the 16th century tower house as:
Standing, with two other houses, on a tree-fringed plateau above Luce Bay... The hall is 30 feet long, with a fine fireplace. From it the laird’s private stair leads to bedrooms, each with its own privy (the potential for hide and seek is endless). The wide main stair, in its own tower, has a little room at the top called the cap house, from which you can glimpse the sea.
It was really my brother who orchestrated the whole trip (thank you again!) and in anticipation of the holiday he sent me these Jeurgen Teller photos shot at the castle for Vogue Italia in 1997. Very spooky and just right for the witching hours of winter.
